BEE CAVE ARTS FOUNDATION: WINTER ART CAMPS

Drink &amp; Draw returns! Join Contracommon artists for a casual night of creativity and camaraderie. Bring a current project or use our supplies! Come take a break and get creative. No expectations, judgements or prerequisites! This month’s Drink &amp; Draw will be held at Contracommon on Friday December 19th from 5-8pm. ContraCommon: Drink + Draw

Contracommon is a nonprofit that provides affordable studios to emerging artists. We foster a sense of community in an inclusive way to go against the common. Located in Bee Cave, Texas at the Hill Country Galleria, Contracommon has a dedicated 1,200 sq/foot gallery space, 12 artist studios, communal workspace, office, onsite laundry, and kitchen. We believe in providing artists the opportunity to present their work to the world without the obstacles of a traditional studio/gallery arrangement.

Contra/Common

Create magical holiday memories in a sensory-friendly environment!&nbsp;Children with special needs and their families are invited for Santa Cares, a special photo experience with Santa in an environment set up to support the sensory, physical, and other developmental needs of kids with all abilities. Reservations are required&nbsp;<a href="https://calendly.com/hillcountrygalleria/supportive-santa-2025?month=2025-12&amp;date=2025-12-15" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">HERE</a>. Time slots of 20-minutes with a 10-minute buffer&nbsp;between reservation times. There will be no professional photographer on site, but families are welcome to use their own cameras. Santa's Workshop is located indoors, next door to Buenos Aires Café.

<h3>Stained Glass Holly Leaves hosted by Deke Cameron</h3> SUNDAY, DEC. 14TH / 12-4PM $125 tuition per student, all materials included. In this class, students will assemble and solder a stained-glass holly leaf ornament made from art glass sheets, glass globs, and lead came. Hosted by <a href="https://instagram.com/the_glassclown/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="background-color: initial; color: rgb(235, 51, 0);">The Glassclown</a>, this beginner-friendly workshop will guide students through the labor-intensive craft of stained glass over the course of 4 hours. Students will break and grind glass, bend and form lead came, and learn proper use of a soldering iron.All skill levels are welcome and encouraged - no prior experience required. Minors ages 14+ may attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian.All tools and materials are included. Personal protective equipment (like gloves and glasses) will be available, though you are welcome to bring your own. Safety warning: This workshop can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Instructor bio: Deke Cameron is a self-taught stained glass artisan residing in Central Texas. Deke has been sharing the art of leaded stained glass with anyone who will listen for nearly 10 years. Contracommon: Stained-Glass Holly Leaves

Contracommon is proud to host a Mario Kart Tournament at their holiday party on December 13th, 2025, from 6-11pm, featuring vendors, snacks, drinks, prizes, and more! This is a chance for friends, artists, and community members to gather, celebrate the season, and play games together. The tournament will begin at 7:00pm, with doors opening at 6:00pm for driver check-in at our reception desk until 6:45pm. There is a $5 tournament entry fee for drivers, which will be collected at the door and comes with a free drink ticket. It is recommended to bring your own controller if you are participating in the races! Dressing up is encouraged: think holiday colors, tacky sweaters, and of course Mario &amp; Nintendo Costumes. Contracommon will provide free snacks and beer while supplies last, with $5 cocktails available for purchase. The top 4 racers will take home prizes crafted by local artists from our collective. This holiday party will also celebrate the artists featured in our Merry Makers Market, a booth-style display of art and handmade goods from Austin-area artists. Items for sale include a wide range of media, such as original paintings, prints, collages, sculptures, homewares, pins, apparel, ornaments, jewelry, stained glass, and more! Contracommon: Mario Kart Tournament and Holiday Party

<h3>Holiday Card Linoleum Print Workshop with Kennedy Swift and Connor McAdams Davis</h3> SUNDAY, DEC. 7TH / 12PM-6PM $75 class registration, materials provided The focus of this workshop will be to make either holiday cards or standard prints that can be used as gifts or just to keep. Students will learn proper technique for linoleum block carving and will have the opportunity to both hand print and use a printing press to create at least one edition of prints. The workshop will guide students through carving text to print correctly before allowing them to approach the project in their own way, utilizing 2 (or more) linoleum blocks. The workshop will supply ink, gloves, and cleanup materials but students should be advised to bring an apron or else wear clothes they don’t mind getting dirty. Materials Provided:<ul><li>2 — 4x6” linoleum blocks</li><li>1 sheet of BFK Rives Printmaking Paper 22x30”</li><li>1 pack of Speedball Printmaking Paper 8.5x11”</li><li>*students may bring additional supplies, more paper or different sizes of linoleum blocks, if desired</li></ul> This workshop is intended for artists aged 18 and up. Instructor Bios: Kennedy Swift is a multidisciplinary artist based in Austin, Texas. They finished their BFA in Studio Arts with a concentration in Printmaking at Texas State University in 2020 and were awarded a fellowship for Penland School of Craft’s Winter Residency in 2023. Kennedy previously worked as Texas State University’s print shop assistant in addition to working as a teaching assistant for beginner and advanced students. They instructed a linoleum printmaking workshop at Contracommon in August of 2025. Connor McAdams Davis is a Texas State University graduate. They earned a BFA in Studio Art in 2020, during which they completed multiple printmaking courses. Connor has worked in commercial screen printing for four years. Now, they continue to explore various forms of printmaking and other mediums while participating in workshops, markets, and Austin-based art events. Contracommon: Holiday Card Linoleum Print Workshop

The Bee Cave Holiday Market is a three-weekend pop-up market hosted by Penny V Productions and Hill Country Galleria. This unique holiday market takes place in the Hill Country Galleria Central Plaza. For the first 3 weeks in December, we host a rotating lineup of local Austin makers offering unique, handmade goods, perfect for holiday gifts. Families can enjoy the holiday ice skating rink, pictures with Santa, face painting, and lots of fun holiday activities! Contracommon is proud to present the&nbsp;Merry Makers Market, a booth-style display of art and handmade goods from Austin-area artists, on view from Black Friday,&nbsp;November 28th, 2025 - January 2, 2026. We warmly invite the Bee Cave community to join us in uplifting creative small businesses during this season of giving. Contracommon is an artist-run nonprofit bringing art and people together. We host monthly art shows, hands-on workshops, and community events, while providing affordable studios and experimental gallery space to local artists. Our Merry Makers Market will offer a wide range of artworks and products from exhibitors, including original paintings, prints, collages, sculptures, homewares, pins, apparel, ornaments, jewelry, stained glass, and more!Exhibiting artists include Alison Lackey, Cara Jackson, Clara Hart, Clarissa Perez, Deke Cameron, Denielle Monroe, Emily Tolipova, Jessica Navalva, Kellen Powell, Kelsey Baker, Kollin Baker, Marjorie Parker, Sally Van Horn, Shari Vogl, Váz Andreina, Veeny Revilla, and Yazmin Avila-Flores. Bee Cave on Ice

Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning. The Salvation Army Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children around the country each year. Once a child or senior adult has been registered and accepted as an&nbsp;Angel&nbsp;their Christmas wish list is shared with donors in your community who purchase gifts of new clothing and toys. The gifts are distributed to the family to place under their family Christmas tree.
