The Books and Bees Festival is an annual, award‑winning community event hosted by the Bee Cave Public Library. Entering its fifth year, the 2026 festival will take place on Saturday, April 11th, offering a free, family‑friendly celebration of literacy and environmental education. As both a literacy hub and a Bee City USA affiliate, the City of Bee Cave uses the festival to advance two core missions: promoting a love of reading for all ages and increasing public awareness about the importance of bees. The festival features bestselling and high‑profile authors, engaging readings, hands‑on activities, and bee‑focused educational experiences designed for children and adults. Supported by generous sponsors, the event is described as a “work of heart,” reflecting the community’s commitment to fostering both environmental stewardship and a passion for books. Contracommon: Drink & Draw

Contracommon is a nonprofit that provides affordable studios to emerging artists. We foster a sense of community in an inclusive way to go against the common. Contracommon has a dedicated 1,200 sq/foot gallery space, 12 artist studios,&nbsp;communal workspace, office, onsite laundry, and kitchen.&nbsp;We believe in providing artists the opportunity to present their work to the world without the obstacles of a traditional studio/gallery arrangement.

Improve your art practice in this self-guided, live model session! Bring your favorite materials to work with, and study the human form. The model will sit for a number of short gestures, followed by one long pose. Join us for this month’s session, hosted by Contracommon member Holly Cerna. This independently led session is for artists aged 18+ only. It’s a lively event that you won’t want to miss. Starting March 29, the Bee Cave Farmers Market is proud to partner with <a href="https://therefugeecollective.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Refugee Collective</a>, which operates a local certified organic farm that supplies their beautiful produce. All profits from the booth go directly back to the farm as a donation, helping sustain their work with resettled families and their community programs.
