El Dorado Gallery is looking for a Sales Associate/Art Consultant to join our team of creative individuals who are passionate about art and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate should have a strong sales, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and marketing skills. Experience in furniture sales or interior design sales is highly advantageous. For a motivated individual with strong sales skills, learning about art is entirely feasible. As a Sales Associate, you will have the opportunity to develop new skills, gain knowledge, and grow your career within our gallery and beyond. And with the hands-on mentorship by the two owners, you will gain vast knowledge of business, marketing, entrepreneurship, and innovation.  Responsibilities: Greet and assist customers in a friendly and approachable manner Provide product knowledge and information to customers Address customer inquiries, concerns, and provide solutions to ensure a positive experience Actively engage customers to understand their needs and recommend products Meet and exceed sales targets through effective product promotion and upselling Process transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems Maintain a clean and organized gallery, ensuring products are well-displayed Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to the management team Build and maintain relationships with clients, artists, and collectors Assist clients with inquiries, purchases, and artwork selection Provide clients with information on artists, exhibitions, and artworks Lead gallery operations for opening and closing Assist with planning and organizing events and exhibitions Maintain a strong knowledge of the gallery's artists and their work Keep up-to-date with market trends and industry news Manage installations and deinstallations of artwork Provide marketing support by managing and creating content for the gallery catalog, social media, email blasts, website, etc.  Assist photoshoots for artwork and artist interviews Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a sales or customer service role preferably in furniture sales, interior design, art related fields Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well with a wide range of people Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail Proficient in Mac OS, Google Workplace (e.g. Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Drive), Canva, ArtPlacer, social media platforms, and or ability to quickly learn new software Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Knowledge of art history, contemporary art, and the art market is an added advantage Compensation: Hourly pay starts at $13 per plus sales commission** **You have the option to perform the basic responsibilities and receive the minimum pay, or you can actively engage in various aspects of the business, such as marketing and high-level operations, to enhance your compensation. For example, if you can produce and execute content for our social media platform INDEPENDENTLY WITH MINIMAL SUPERVISION, you'll have the opportunity to earn a higher pay.
